I'm sure there is a way to do it right with Bomber Crew, but again it would be a totally different game. You can't just sit in a place or you're blocking everybody, so you must constantly move in a kind of ballet with your teammates. For example you have this level (at 23 minutes) : Overcooked work because you have no role defined (no pilot or machine gunner) everybody can do everything, and levels force you to interact with other and to often switch role. Again players wouldn't really interact with each other, so beside sharing objectives and targets, you won't really play with them. Having each player controlling a plane is a little better, but not ideal. Just having 2 players controlling all the crew member would be a nightmare (the control are not that great even with just one player), and spliting the crew in half won't be very interesting since crew members barely interact with each other (beside reviving). Well, it would need a lot of rework to make it as interesting. Originally posted by Waultor Wyte:It definietly makes me wish Bomber Crew was co-op. I think Cosmonautica looks pretty interesting but I'm a bit put off but the incredibly negative reviews And I could add a few others was well later, but those were the first ones coming to my mind without browsing my library of games. As it has no mechanics like in Overcooked or similar games where one task is depending on another to be done simultaneous by another crewmember.Īnd if it is looking for managing a crew check out the games I mentioned in the second half of my previous replay they all have individual crew management in them. Sadly though they only have local co-op and not sure if the Bomber Crew will work that way as it will lose a lot of its charms if each crewmember is controlled by one person. It definietly makes me wish Bomber Crew was co-op. I'd the only real difference is the amount of people you manage. And yeah, lots of similarities especially the art style. I only played Overcooked once over a friends but when I first saw the trailer for this Overcooked was the FIRST thing I thought of. It's funny you should mention this because I was actually thinking the same thing. It's one of the funniest couch play game, so if you have some gamepads a few friends to play with, give it a try. It's pretty much the same thing, but instead of dropping bomb you must cook things, the challenge is that you have multiple things to take care at once.Īlso they both got kind of the same art style (both game are made with Unity) and both got an extinguisher ! It's mostly a coop game but you can play it in single player. If you’re interested in hearing their stories firsthand allow me to recommend episode 15 of the Chalke Valley History Hit podcast where host James Holland sits down with a complete 7-man crew.īomber Crew will launch for Windows PC, Mac and Linux systems.Originally posted by Sylvine:People keep mentioning FTL or airplane simulations, but the game it reminds me the most is Overcooked. There aren’t very many men left alive from that time. The video above highlights your ability to take first-person control of the various turrets, and even have your crew climb out on the wing to fix the engine.Īs goofy as it sounds, Bomber Crew is very clearly a love letter to the Avro Lancaster, the legendary British-made heavy bomber that helped the Allies win WWII.Īir combat over Europe was dangerous, but it was especially dangerous for the airmen who flew the “Lanc.” According to the BBC, life expectancy for new crew members was about two weeks. Most challenging of all, the game is a roguelike and death of your crew members is permanent. But the team at Runner Duck have gone a step further, and claim to have modelled everything from fuel consumption, ammunition use and hydraulics. The game’s Steam page shows a gif of plane missing half a wing that’s still able to land at a friendly airfield. First, you’ll be flying a physics-based multi-crew bomber with location-based damage. There’s a few things that have me really excited about Bomber Crew. ![]() ![]() It looks like something Nintendo might make if it fell in love with FTL: Faster Than Light. It’s an action-packed game by the looks of it, but presented with an adorable pixelated style. Bomber Crew is an upcoming WWII-themed strategy game from the small team at Runner Duck, based in Brighton, England.
